Devil's Cut.

Size: M
Where: Lucky Brand, I'm pretty sure.

Why: Birthday gift from Doug a few years ago.

Comment: As much as I love the design on the back of this shirt, this is actually my shirt of choice when I do that whole long-sleeve-shirt-under-short-sleeve-shirt-over-long-sleeve shirt thing, just because the sleeves are so great.

Left sleeve.

Right sleeve.

The New York Public Library.

Size: XL
Where: NYPL gift shop

Why: Bruce picked this up for me years ago on a class trip to NY, back when I still lived in SoCal.

Comment: Yesterday's post made me go digging around for this shirt, which I had all-but-forgotten that I had.

The two lions outside the famous 42nd St. branch of NYPL are named Patience and Fortitude. It is not clear to me which of them is pictured on this shirt. Yes, I am saying that "they" all look alike to me - wanna fight about it? :p

Librarian.

Size: L
Where: Amazon (I think)

Why: I loved the red, and also that the font looks like a Snickers bar.

Comment: John got me this for my birthday (I think) a couple years back. I've since decided that I need many, many more "librarian" shirts.

helvetica.

Size: M
Where: buyolympia.com

Why: I've been obsessed with shirt ever since I saw that documentary on Helvetica at the IFC, way back whenever that was.

Comment: Christmas present from Dave last year. It's a fun shirt to wear.

SJSU.

Size: L
Where: SJSU store

Why: I went to grad school there. Sort of (see below).

Comment: Though I did indeed receive my Master's from SJSU, it was through their then-pioneering "satellite program", wherein all my classes were taken via satellite video hookup, online, and/or local instructors at sites throughout SoCal (mainly in Pasadena or on the campus of Cal State Fullerton). So though my diploma does say "San Jose State University", I tell everyone that the first time I saw what the actual campus looked like was on that cheesy orange silkscreeny thing that the diploma was mailed in.

As for the shirt...like the UCLA shirt of yore, I didn't actually get this shirt until years after I'd graduated, and it was more a think-I-should-have-this decision than anything else. It's just a boring shirt. It's like a laundry day shirt.

Also like the UCLA shirt, it's labeled L but definitely feels like an XL. What is the deal with oversized college shirts?
