Why: Originally, this shirt was sent to me from a seller supposedly as an apology for the delay in sending another shirt that I had ordered. I'm not knocking a free bonus, but I did notice that the seller was also selling several of these shirts at the same time s/he was selling the one that I actually bought (not to mention the size of this shirt wasn't even close to the size of the shirt that I had actually ordered, so what exactly was I expected to do with this one?), so I suspect that s/he just had a bunch of these extras laying around and was trying to unload one. Oh well.

Comment: I had, many months ago, promised to get this shirt to Shannon so she could give it to her sister (a big ebtg fan), but the shirt got buried and I forgot. Now that it's been unburied, somebody remind me to get this shirt to Shannon next time we hang out.

Jews For Cheeses, and sdf-1 battlefortress records.

First off, I wanted to show off this cool shirt that I won at the Comic News Insider raffle at New York Comic Con yesterday. It unfortunately was not my size, so I traded it with Hoche for a signed Chris Eliopoulos sketch.

But...since this shirt technically never made it to "my personal collection", here's the day's actual shirt:

Why: No real reason. I liked the name of the company, and thought the logo looked cool.

Comment: I've often wondered how much more this company made on geeky t-shirt sales than they did on actual music sales. Now that I look at their site, I see that they've dropped the "sdf-1", changed their logo, and printed up some new shirts. I've got my eye on the army green one, though they appear to be out of my size.

The Spinanes - Strand.

Where: At a Spinanes show in LA, circa mid-90s.



Why: I love The Spinanes.

Comment: One of my favorite bands of all time, and certainly one of the more underrated musical acts of the 90s. All three of their albums (as well as their collection of EPs and Rebecca Gates' solo EP) are all easily, cheaply available on Amazon and elsewhere. Please have a listen. True soundtrack-of-your-life stuff. My life, at least.



Currently, Rebecca Gates is behind the art/activism project parcematone, and is according to the website recording a record (or two?).

Sadly, this shirt doesn't see much wear anymore as it's gotten way too big for me, plus as you can tell from the pictures it's seen better days. Hey, it's almost 15 years old! What do you want?

International Spy Museum.

Why: Why not? I was there. (Sorry, I mean, "I was never there.")

Comment: Ritter and I visited the museum when I went down to DC to hang out a few years back (yes, SUCH a tourist). I enjoyed it, though honestly the only things I remember about it are crawling through the air duct and the display case full of methods used by spies through the ages to hide messages on their...ahem..."person".

Why: I love Star Wars shirts, especially clever Star Wars shirts, and this one just cracks me up to no end. No end!

Comment: This is the shirt I wore to last year's New York Comic Con, so I post it tonight in honor of this year's New York Comic Con (which starts tomorrow - woo hoo!). What shirts will I wear this weekend? You may have to wait a year to find out.
