Scott Pilgrim.
Size: M
Where: Oni Press booth at New York Comic Con
Why: No why. It's Scott Pilgrim. I wanted a Scott Pilgrim shirt.
Comment: As I've said before, when I buy a shirt from a show/book/movie/whatever, my tastes run much more toward the something-you'd-find-existing-in-that-world shirts (like the quidditch ones) than the normal name-and-logo-type shirts (though I've obviously made exceptions to this before). I remember one of my main missions for last year's NYCC was to find a Scott Pilgrim shirt, preferably of a "diegetic" quality - I was sure I'd seen some "The Clash at Demonhead" or "Crash and the Boys" shirts online at one time or another - and something with some Bryan Lee O'Malley art. This shirt certainly fulfilled the second requirement, and was just generally so cool that I was willing to forgo the first. I suppose I could just pretend like this is the cover of Scott's first solo EP, or something. I imagine it to sound nothing at all like Beck.
I just really love this shirt. And hey! So does Mint!

Ro-Boss.
Size: M
Where: Woot
Why: Um...it's a robot shirt.
Comment: I love the colors, and I love how the robot is made of negative space. Some people online were saying that the robot looks like Maximillian from that awful Disney movie The Black Hole, though other than the fact that it has two arms and some sort of visor-face, I don't really see much resemblance myself.

Save the Clock Tower.
Size: M
Where: Teefury
Why: It was cute. Obviously I dig the running theme.
Comment: Surprising number of fun details in the simple, straightforward design. The font and colors, obviously, as well as the tower itself, but also the lightning bolt, the flux capacitor, the backwards arrow, the flames, the vest jacket, and of course Hill Valley '85. Just a really fun shirt.

Quidditch House Outfitters.
Size: M
Where: Teefury
Why: I'm fairly certain that I'd be sorted into Ravenclaw.
Comment: Okay, I lied. No sooner did I post my Gryffindor shirt and whine about how they never made a Ravenclaw one did Teefury put this one out, so of course I HAD TO snap it up right away.
I really dig this shirt, obviously, though I think the broomsticks in front of the eagle look a bit strange, as I think visually they would make more sense behind. But who knows, maybe then you would have gotten the weird "insect" look of the Gryffindor shirt. Although for them to register as brooms, the eagle would have to move up on the shirt, to where the brooms cross, or possibly in the "V" that they form. I don't know, I'm not a designer.
Another reason I like this shirt better than the Gryffindor shirt is because being team captain is, of course, preferable to being merely team seeker. And no, I neither play nor even approve of "real-life" Quidditch, even if it is at the old alma mater. :s

Long-sleeved shirt, brown.
Size: M
Where: Banana Republic
Why: I guess I liked it.
Comment: Yeah, just a boring, brown long-sleeved t-shirt from Banana Republic. I know I must have worn it at some point even if I can't honestly remember ever having done so, though I do remember buying it one Saturday while outlet shopping out on Long Island, many many years ago.
The shirt is made of this really stiff, scratchy sort of cotton, almost like paper or cardboard, which I'm sure is really fancy or expensive or whatever, but it's really uncomfortable - I wouldn't wear this while running, for example. In fact, I can't really think of where I would wear this. I should probably just get rid of it.
Yeah, just a boring, brown long-sleeved t-shirt that I found buried in the back of my closet while cleaning house.

Run For the Parks 2011.

Haifischbaby.
Size: M
Where: timfishworks.com
Why: It's cute. I'm a big fan of Tim Fish's work.
Comment: Happy Shark Week! And what better way to celebrate this completely made-up, inexplicably popular "special" week than to post all my shark shirts? And by "all" I mean, of course, just the one.
This shirt is inspired by the France Gall song of the same name. The song basically means "I love you so much I could eat you." Cute!
Tim Fish has a bunch of shirts in both his "En Allemande" series (inspired by the German pop songs recorded by France Gall in the late-60's), from which this shirt is taken, as well as shirts which have appeared in his comics series "Cavalcade of Boys". They're all really cool and eventually I will have them all. Well, maybe not the "Beaver Bullet" one. :s

Cat.
Size:M
Where: Uniqlo
Why: Present from Shan & Iz, who saw it at the store and thought I would like it.
Comment: Cute! I love the color and the old-fashioned print. I also like the little guy on the bottom that looks like a hedgehog.
Can anyone translate this for me?
Here's a detail of the little black tag at the bottom of the front of the shirt.

Platte River Half Marathon & Buckhorn Exchange Relay.
Size: M
Where: Platte River Half Marathon & Buckhorn Exchange Relay
Why: Race giveaway.
Comment: I promise you that I did NOT fly all the way to Denver JUST to run a leg in this half relay. I'm not nearly that hardcore.
It's nice to have some long-sleeved tech shirts for the colder months.
Funny, I didn't even notice the reflective Brooks logo on the sleeve until I saw the picture of the back of the shirt, above. Here's a detail:
